can anyone recommend natural remedies for anxiety ?
I have tried two different anti depressants and suffered the most awful side effects coming off them.
I am sick of polluting my body with these drugs and want to try a more healthy option.
my main problem is that i worry a lot, i get very anxious that i have said or done the wrong thing, etc etc.
Is there a herbal product that may help with this?
I have very low self esteem and tell myself all the time how stupid i am etc about the things that i have said .
The anti depressants did help in a way but i hated taking them and i wanted me back if you know wht i mean but without this awful anxiety.
Can any one offer some advice?
I try to have a healthy diet and exercise regularly.
5htp is a good alternative to a conventional antidepressant. Take 50mg at night with a carbo snack or some milk. I’ve been taking this for almost 2 years now and it’s been more effective than the SSRI I was on and doesn’t have the side effects.
Passiflora is a herbal treatment which is also very effective. It will calm you without causing sleepiness.
If you’re suffering from anxiety attacks, then propranolol (you’ll need to get it prescribed from your doctor) is excellent. It’s not addictive and you won’t get side effects at low dosage.
Magnesium and Calcium are natural sedatives - without causing tiredness - take a combined supplement last thing at night.
The vitamin B complex is also good for nervous problems.
I also found cutting out ALL caffeine has helped a lot. I now drink decaff tea because even normal tea has a fair amount of caffeine in it.
L-theanine is an amino acid which calms, but I found that it made me feel more depressed. It might work every now and again if you’re going to be facing something stressful though.
Hope you feel better soon.

Turn your anxiety into courage, which is to do the right thing, and when you do courage you get confidence in return. The more anxiety you have, the more courage you do the more confidence you get.
You are going to have to go out your confidence zone and act. Courage is DOING the right thing.
No products necessary, natural or not
Hope this helped

Optomistic attitude whenever an anxious thought comes in your mind battle it by saying the oposite of what you believe the outcome to be ie "Im going to die on a plane tonight " TO "Its all in my mind, I wont die on this plane its just a fear"
The power of everything comes from your thoughts - you need to personally bridle your mind in order to overcome panic attacks anti depressants suck they dont work dont use them - just battle your negative thoughts with positive ones, and when its too tough to battle the negative do something to get your mind off of the subject write a list of all the things that you are anxious about and then wrirte at least 3 ways in which you can come against those negative ideas with positives - hope i helped.

Maybe fish oil capsules, increasing omega 3 and 6 helped me. That might provide a quick fix to the problem, for a more thorough solution look into homeopathic tissue salts and your local health store. Tissue salts really work and quickly by balancing your blood and improving your immune system so that your body will be equipped to fight your anxiety.

Hi,
I would go for the St. John’s Wort.
The plant St John’s wort has been used as a herbal remedy for a variety of ailments for centuries; currently it is most often used, in tablet form, to treat depression.
Important note
Many people believe that as herbal remedies are ‘natural’, they are completely safe and free of side effects. This is not the case: many herbs are very poisonous (hemlock, for example), while other plants are poisonous in some parts and safe in others (such as the potato); however, extracts from poisonous plants may make very useful medicines when used in the right way (for example, digitalis, a heart drug which comes from foxglove). Of course there are some herbs that are both harmless and useful as medicines.
Tablets made using a standardised extract of St John’s wort have been extensively researched in Germany since the early 1980s, and are now widely available from health food shops as a herbal remedy for mild to moderate depression. Research in America found it unhelpful for severe depression, but this has been questioned by more recent research which suggests that it compared favourably with paroxetine (a synthesised antidepressant) in moderate to severe depression.
Scientific studies of the herb suggest that it acts to increase the activity and prolong the action of the brain chemicals serotonin and noradrenaline, in a similar manner to standard antidepressants, but with many fewer reported side effects.
The most commonly reported side effects of St John’s wort include gastrointestinal symptoms (such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea), allergic reactions, fatigue, dizziness and confusion. Dry mouth occurs in a small percentage of patients. A rare side effect is increased sensitivity to sunlight; people taking it should increase their sun protection and avoid strong sunlight.
You should not take St John’s wort if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, because there is no information on its safety in these conditions. It should also not be used for children under the age of 16 for the same reason.
St John’s wort has significant interactions with a large number of medicines which are in common use (in addition to those mentioned below). These are listed in the British National Formulary (BNF), and include both prescribed drugs and over-the-counter medicines, such as paracetamol. People who are taking any other medicine should always seek professional advice from a pharmacist, medical herbalist or doctor before combining it with St John’s wort.
You should not take St John’s wort at the same time as any other antidepressant. St John’s wort may prolong the effects of some sleeping pills and anaesthetics. If you are to receive an anaesthetic you should tell the anaesthetist if you are taking St John’s wort. It reduces blood levels of oral contraceptives, increasing the risk of pregnancy and breakthrough bleeding.
I always read up on anything before taking it. I hope this helps!!! If it sounds like just what you are looking for, I buy mine on line with free delivery. Try this website http://www.trustwilliam.com/Well-being/Kordels-St-Johns-Wort-2000mg/Product?extcam=sm
