My thoughts on, and how have overcome social anxiety and negative thoughts. CBT is what I use and it is very very good at helping you think more positively and just feeling better overall. Give me some feedback!
Social Anxiety is … Social Anxiety is not really the same as shyness. Shyness is something you outgrow, something which doesn’t disrupt and ruin your life. Social Anxiety is a disorder of your thought patterns, which is much more invasive than shyness.
yeah, you’re right. … yeah, you’re right. What I mean though is: could having ocd make shyness worse? Well, first off, I used to be REAL shy. How my shyness is now is that I sometimes get nervous when I talk to people I don’t know that well. And when I get nervous, the words that come out of my mouth sound like jibber jabber. It’s embarrasing! lol. It’s worse when a group of people are standing around. Sometimes I get so nervous that I blank and forget what I was going to say.
No shyness is not … No shyness is not part of OCD. If that were true then it could be argued that 50% of the population have OCD! IMO being shy is social anxiety, because you feel limited towards your social actions since you’re afraid of how people will react and what they will think about you.
How shy are you? I used to be shy in situations where I met new people, so what I did was I decided to just start talking to people everywhere. This had a tremendously positive effect on me, and you should do it too!
